Elegant and useful storage and display unit.
The Credenza has been designed and made to create a striking, tactile and functional piece of furniture.
All the materials have been cut, machined, planed, sanded, joined, chamfered and oiled with impeccable attention to detail.
Solid ash battens create contrasting grains and tones against the birch plywood carcass. The top of each batten is charred with fire, an ancient Japanese technique called shou sugi ban. This creates a bold contrast with the rest of the pale wood.
Solid ash planks are jointed together to create a beautifully bespoke top.
Jointed tapered solid ash legs and base frame.
The carcass is made with 18mm FSC certified birch plywood and a 6mm back.
The shelves can be set at a selection of heights on hand turned brass pegs.
The brass door handles are also hand turned and knurled in Bristol. They are bolted through the battens and doors to ensure long lasting strength and durability.
