Zizi Baby Changing Unit

The Zizi Baby Changing Unit has been designed and made to create a striking, tactile and functional unit.

All the materials have been cut, machined, planed, sanded, joined, chamfered and oiled with impeccable attention to detail.

Solid ash battens create contrasting grains and tones against the birch plywood carcass.  The top of each batten is charred with fire, an ancient Japanese technique. This creates a bold contrast with the rest of the pale wood.

Solid ash planks are jointed together to create a beautifully bespoke top.

Jointed tapered solid ash legs and base frame.

The carcass is made with 18mm FSC certified birch plywood and a 6mm back.

The drawers are made from 12mm FSC certified birch plywood, all jointed using various techniques.
The drawer run on a more traditional wooden runner technique. Channels are routed into the drawer sides and then slide onto solid ash sliders fixed firmly onto the carcass.

The brass door handles are also hand turned and knurled in Bristol.  They are bolted through the battens and fronts to ensure long lasting strength and durability.

Carcass 84.5cm L x 63.5cm H x 52cm D
Leg height (floor to base of cabinet) is 16cm H

Custom sizing is available. Oak, Sycamore and Walnut can also be used for the top, legs and battens.
