Wizard Works – Bespoked exhibition stand 2021
Wizard Works make clever and colourful bicycle bags in London, they wanted a clean and modern exhibition stand for 2021 Bespoked bike show in Harrogate, Yorkshire. They came to me asking for a stand that would really stand out, display all their various bags in the different colour ways. They also needed to display two bikes and have storage for stock and general personal belongings over the weekend. They were keen on the eco-friendly material called valchromat in the bold green to compliment all their colours and contrast with the ash dowel. The clients also specified that the stand could be used for future shows and as storage boxes in the studio whilst not exhibiting.
The project involved various testing and prototyping of the various ash dowel designs to hold the different types of bags in line with each other in the rows and columns. The ash dowel respresented the way in which the bags are fixed to bicycles.
The whole stand is constructed in elements. The back panels bolt together in situ and the storage carcasses bolt onto the back panels to ensure a secure structure. These are also bolted to each other. The individual dowels then slot into their allocated holes. Bespoke steel bike stands were made by Pi over at Clandestine and are bolted up through the plinths.
Birch plywood laser cut letters were stuck on securely in situ for their logo.
Each element was designed & made by me.
All valchromat was oiled with Cosmo clear and ash dowel with osmo raw.
