Wine rack alcove

This wine rack & cupboard was designed and made for a couple who wanted a bespoke wine rack to fit into an alcove in their kitchen. They wanted a cupboard with shelves at the bottom, ample of wine bottle rack area and a couple of shelves for other bottles. An added LED light strip was added to make the piece stand out and become a real feature of the room.

I made the carcass’ and door front from FSC Birch plywood.

All the solid ash (charred battens, frame structure and shelves) were machined by me in my workshop. Battens are charred for extra detail. The main structure is then jointed, glued up, sanded and routed for a refined finish. Brass handles are hand turned and knurled by my partner in Bristol.
