Welsh Cottage Kitchen

A contemporary kitchen with modern shaker style cabinet fronts for a small old miners cottage in Eryri National Park in Wales.

Solid ash frames with ash veneered centre panels for the cabinet fronts all with integrated scalloped handles.
Birch plywood cabinets.
Cedar & walnut Foresso worktop ash edging.
Solid ash shelving with Fenix laminated onto birch plywood for the shelves.
Ash and Fenix spice rack.

The Fenix colour was inspired by the colours of the Welsh mountains that surround the house.
The walnut and cedar Foresso top was selected due to the clients favourite woods for making his handmade guitars.

A combination of open and fronted cabinets allowed the kitchen to still feel like a cottage kitchen. Having open shelves to the end of the kitchen created a lighter feel to the space and allows you to display selected kitchenware. Maximising storage was key and easy access to the essentials was key. The clients upcycled a reclaimed Belfast sink from their parents house and found some more traditional brass taps to complete the look.
