Oak Understairs Storage & Staircase Feature

Understair storage with oak battens to act as new stair spindles which create a feature piece and partial room divider.

The customer came to me with quite a clear idea of the style he wanted and what he needed to store. His essential storage needs included a large bespoke shoe drawer, cupboard to store his tall hoover, a drawer for his cat and an integrated fridge/freezer.

The client had had to have new stairs put in as the old ones were too steep, hence the mismatch angled dado rail. We went with oak to match the oak stair treads and contrast with the dark wooden floor. The dado rail is still to be removed and designs for a hand rail will be added later in the year.

Push-to-open oak veneer cupboards and drawer fronts.
